Carolina Nature Coalition invited Riley Lewis, the proud White Oak Waterkeeper with Coastal Carolina Riverwatch since September 2022, to discuss her work at CCRW. She defines our wetlands, explain any changes in NC legislation, expectations of trends, and resources for the public. Through her work she monitors waters for pollution, conducts outreach to community members, and advocates for water quality along NC's Crystal Coast. A question & answer session follows the presentation.
CCRW serves a total area of 320 miles of rivers and streams, 140,104 acres of estuaries, and 129 miles of coastline in the White Oak River Basin. CCRW protects the quality of water and quality of life in coastal NC through boots on the ground monitoring, outreach, and advocacy in our communities.
